Joanne Jones
Joanne Jones completed a theatre practices degree in 1998. After that, she joined small community Theatre Company in Northern Ireland and worked across the province leading cross community theatre and drama to aid the peace process and community integration. She also directed a women’s project that championed women artists and writers. Joanne has undertaken research in Irish and African performance traditions and travelled and taught in Eastern. After Returning to England she taught Theatre Practice for 4 years in colleges. She has coached over 100 actors into drama school and universities as well as training teachers. During the last ten years Joanne has directed over 30 plays with professional, semi professional, community and student participants, devised and written numerous short plays and toured throughout Poland, England and Ireland. She also learnt a bit of fiddle and plays as a hobby with various musicians. After deciding to leave teaching she is currently coaching professional artists from every medium in project development. She has recently started a Theatre Company called The Gateways Group which is based in a rural setting on Exmoor, Devon, UK. Joanne also occasionally coaches a few professionals in furthering their organizations and careers, sponsoring and coaching young actors at Drama schools and universities in the UK.
