Presentation Overview
What is the nature of the frame that houses the portrait of character? What is “said” when we judge that those in front of us are not looking and, more importantly, when we apply these behaviors to ourselves, how do they expand our artistic possibilities?
Pause Behavior includes the typical, "uh" and "er" as well as, the delicate idiosyncrasies so often overlooked such as, breath holding, lip smacking and gaze. The exploration is transcultural, physio-vocal and centered on the premise that Beauty is discovered within idiosyncrasy. The workshop would begin with 2 minute interviews (in pairs or trios) focused on a broad question such as, "Who did you pretend to be as a child?", move through explorations of the witnessed behaviors and result in a tone poem performed in the tradition of Greek Chorus.
