Sheila Gordon (USA)

Currently Assistant Professor of Acting and Voice at Southwest Missouri State University (USA). She has been a professional actress and teacher for more than 20 years. She has worked professionally in film, television and stage. She has taught classes in Method, Michael Chekhov Technique and Russian Constructivist acting styles in Paris, Moscow, Italy, New York and San Francisco and several American universities. Her solo performance piece, “New York: Sex, Killing and the Shopping,” appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the L.A. Theatre Festival. Recent performance credits include Heather Woodbury’s “A Tale of Two Cities,” at The Public Theatre in New York, the film, “Boys Don’t Cry,” and a repertoire with the Moscow Art Theatre. Formal Training: M.F.A. in Acting at Carnegie Mellon University, B.F.A. in acting from New York University. Also trained with Lee Strasberg, Stella Adler, and members of Michael Chekhov’s Darlington Studio. A member of Screen Actors Guild and Actors Equity Association. Certified instructor of the Pilates method (with nine years teaching experience).
