"Theatre Methods" is the annual professional festival bringing up the question of the Bridge between Tradition and Contemporaneity in performing arts. It is unifying artists from all over the world interested in the research of theatre methods between tradition and contemporaneity.

The aim of the festival is to make the contribution to the upbringing of tolerance in the society by the acquaintance with the diversity of world traditions.

The main task of the festival is to demonstrate various theatre methods, to exchange experience in professional theatre education, methods of rehearsal process, performance making and production.

Participants: actors, directors, dancers, choreographers, teachers, playwrights, stage designers, script writers, theatre critics, journalists, cultural managers.

PROGRAMME

The Art of Acting Between Tradition and Contemporaneity - workshop with
Sergey Ostrenko (theatre director, teacher, choreographer - Russia).
Sounding Dance - workshop with Pam Woods (dancer, choreographer - UK).
Falling Among The Nettles - performance by Pam Woods (dancer, choreographer - UK).
Russian Theatre Tradition and Method of AnatolyVasilyev - lectures by
Eugenia Rozanova (theatre critic, manager of A.Vasilev’s theatre “School of Dramatic Art”, coordinator of creative programmes (one of them is well-known “Meeting of the Commonwealth Theatres” - Moscow, Russia).
Strasberg Sense Memory through Animal Observation as Applied to Shakespeare - workshop with Sheila Gordon (Assistant Professor, Voice and Acting, Missouri State University - USA).
Research into Native Performance Culture - workshops and lectures by Floyd Favel (actor, director, choreographer, playwright - Canada).
Riga - May Love - performance directed by Sanita Duka (theatre director - Latvia), performed by theatre-studio "Aka".
Actor's Training of Scenic Action Improvisation - workshop with
Leonid Ostropolsky (Associate Professor of the Chair of Acting Art and Stage Direction of the Kiev Karpenko-Kary State Institute of Theatrical Art, Honoured Art Worker, Director-Producer of the Kiev Lesya Ukrainka National Academic Russian Drama Theatre - Ukraine)
