 International Performing Arts Lab

The Lab is open to drama teachers, social workers, educators, psychologists, trainers, facilitators who are interested in including theatre training exercises as one of the teaching tools in the arsenal and to use theatre as a training methodology in the classroom. Social workers and trainers working with people, and anybody else who is interested in working children or adults can be a part of this workshop. The workshop will concentrate on theatre as a training tool and will cover various theatre methodologies which participants will be guided in developing.
The Lab is the excellent opportunity to get new creative inspiration in practical work with colleagues from different countries and to find interesting ideas valuable both for daily group work and realization of special creative projects.
The workshop programme includes intensive practical training, lectures and discussions.
Each day begins with morning warm-up which combines breathing, movement and imagination. It helps participants to wake up and to prepare for the intensive practical work during the day.
Practical sessions develop in the form of various exercises which progress from simple to compound. Gradually the group is proceeding to group improvisations and structures.
Every day is setting advanced creative tasks, developing the preceding steps. Through the system of consecutive exercises the group is growing common language and trust, ability to collaborate and create together.
Participants will explore:
- Potential body possibilities. - Relaxation and awareness of the body through movement. - Practical investigation of spontaneity. - Awareness and spontaneity in movement. - Psychological gesture. - Transition from individual improvisation to spontaneous collective interaction. - Methods impelling the group to spontaneous collective creative process. - Possibilities of nonverbal communication. - Emotional content and will in action. - Space and time. - Voice and movement. - Composition in the space. - Building the structure. - Structural improvisation.
REGISTRATION

Participation fee: 180 EUR if payment is made before March 19th. (320 EUR if payment is made before March 26th). The fee covers participation in the programme: intensive practical training, lectures, discussions.

IUGTE can help participants to organize accommodation and meals during the Lab in Leitring bei Leibnitz:
Accommodation with meals: Shared twin room: 258 EUR per person. The fee covers six nights of accommodation in shared twin room and three meals per day - breakfast, lunch, dinner.
Single room: 300 EUR per person. The fee covers six nights of accommodation in single room and three meals per day - breakfast, lunch, dinner.
Accommodation without meals: Shared twin room: 150 EUR per person. The fee covers six nights of accommodation in shared twin room.
Single room: 192 EUR per person. The fee covers six nights of accommodation in single room.
The Lab will take place in the 15th century castle. All the rooms have telephone, TV, radio, shower/wc, shower gel, hairdryer. There is Internet access in the castle as well as free Wi Fi in the neighboring café. Find out more about accommodation and venue...
The official day of arrival is Sunday, April 25th. The day of departure is Saturday, May 1st.
